Why Our ‘Good Business Charter’ Accreditation Matters to Us

Doing growth differently - with people, purpose and integrity at the heart.

When I reflect on my career, one of the most formative experiences came during my time at Neighbourly. There I saw how business can really play a positive role in communities - not just through revenue or growth, but through values, transparency and trust.

That experience planted a seed.

And when I founded Accsellerate Limited, I committed to building a business that didn’t just help others grow, but helped them grow responsibly.

So when we applied to the Good Business Charter, we didn’t do it for a badge.

We did it because the Charter captures everything we believe in: paying the real Living Wage, supporting employee wellbeing and voice, sourcing ethically, protecting our environment, paying our fair share of tax, and treating customers and suppliers with fairness.

As the Good Business Charter article explains:

“Accredited organisations must meet all ten components — from paying the real Living Wage and supporting employee voice, to ethical sourcing, environmental responsibility and paying fair tax.”

What the accreditation means to us

  • A public commitment to our values — It means we’re not just saying what we believe in, we’re doing it.

  • A framework for accountability — The GBC doesn’t let you pick and choose; you must cover all ten components. That means we stay honest with ourselves.

  • Trust and confidence — For our clients, partners and people, this accreditation says: “Here is a business that takes its role seriously in the world.”

  • A starting point, not an end point — We’re proud of earning the accreditation, but more than that we’re excited about what comes next: embedding these values even more deeply, and nudging our clients and partners to join us.

How we’re putting it into practice

  • Every consultant, partner and contractor working with Accsellerate is treated fairly, with transparent contracts and flexible working that respects wellbeing.

  • We offer volunteering opportunities via the Neighbourly platform - team members get time out to contribute to their communities, which reinforces the human side of business.

  • Our sourcing is intentional: we prefer UK-based, ethically certified providers and we review our supplier list annually.

  • We operate as a remote-first business, reducing travel, cutting paper use and encouraging digital collaboration.

  • We pay suppliers promptly, adhere to fair tax practices, have regular feedback loops with clients and maintain secure data practices with 2-factor authentication and GDPR compliance.

What this means for you (our clients and partners)

By working with Accsellerate, you’re partnering with a business that doesn’t just talk about growth - but about responsible growth. That might mean challenging the way things have always been done; it means being intentional about people and process as much as outcome.

If you’re looking for a sales strategy or growth roadmap that is grounded in integrity and built for the long term…we’re ready.

My closing thoughts!

We’re delighted to be formally accredited by the Good Business Charter, and even more delighted that this is now a visible, tangible part of how we operate.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Together we’ll build growth that’s not just successful, but sustainable, human and purposeful.
